Cultural dismissal and culling vs. surrender.

Culling is easy; it implies a huge amount of control and mastery. Surrender, on the other hand, is a little sad. That's the moment you realize you're separated from so much. That's your moment of understanding that you'll miss most of the music and the dancing and the art and the books and the films that there have ever been and ever will be, and right now, there's something being performed somewhere in the world that you're not seeing that you would love.
Patty and I are sort of looking at moving when our lease is up at the end of October.

The problem is that I will probably be out of the country around the first week of October, which means if we're doing this, we want to get it solved and locked in during the (late) summer.

So, we're putting the word out on what we're looking for if anyone has leads:

- 2 bedrooms (or large 1bedroom, but we really need to have at least one office room... so hey, 3 bedroom works too if at all viable)
- Outdoor space (terrace, shared brownstone garden, etc.) is a bonus that's close to a requirement
- Ditto laundry in building
- Bathroom must have bathtub
- Cats must be okay
- Good light
- Brooklyn preferred (near trains that are not Brooklyn-Queens only, not only on the J/M/Z or the L, near trains that got to the west side of Manhattan preferably).
- Also interested in Upper Manhattan on the west side if close to trains.
- We pay 1.5K now; we'd like to keep it under 2K; might be willing to stretch it to $2,100 for something awesome
- 2 year lease desired

(yes, it was a big day around here yesterday).
