Yesterday, while we were out, someone smashed a window in our bedroom, that isn't even over the fire escape, with a baseball bat. They did this with so much force shards of glass were embedded in a wall on the other side of the room.

Our laptops and ipods were stolen.

We're fine, the cats are fine, the work loss and the replacement costs are huge. And ther was an amazing adventure with an unccoperative super and trying to buy ply-wood at 11pm on a Saturday.

We're also going to be trying to break the lease and move ASAP.

So that happened.

We're exhausted, headed to pride and then (for me anyway) the Apple Store.

I am so glad that you are all right. Objects can be replaced but pets and people really can't

I also think you have a case for breaking the lease. I hope you find a better place soon at less money than you are paying now.
