two Kurt/Blaine ficlets

Last night I was screwing around on the kurt_blaine 1 Sentence Meme and .Gif Party and wound up writing two random crossover ficlets.

So, now with various typos cleaned up:

1. Kurt/Blaine Doctor Who Crossover thingy.



Kurt knows that one day he will want to leave this place. Well, this non-place really, this traveling blue box and all of time and space, and everything he could ever want, because what he wants is Blaine in a life where every third day isn't about the Doctor screaming RUN!!!

The thing is, though, anyone who'd known them when they left (if anyone knows they've left at all) would have said it'd be Blaine who would tire of this life and would want to return home first. But they would all be wrong, because Blaine has never had a home he loved in anything other than Kurt, and the TARDIS, and the Doctor in his own incredibly awkward way.

So no, Kurt knows, that won't be happening.

He and Blaine will do this thing until one day one of them just doesn't run fast enough. And if they are very, very lucky, all that will mean, Kurt knows, is getting stranded somewhere, where skies are green and moons have rings and cats speak and the grass whispers and kisses.

It won't be home home, not for Kurt and not for perpetually running Blaine, but it'll be enough. And for boys like them, it'll be so much more than either of them ever thought they'd get to have.

2. badboy!Kurt/Blaine at Hogwarts - warning: drug use



"So this is how all you Hufflepuffs stay so damn happy all the time," Kurt says as he climbs up into the tree where Blaine is sitting, smoking a joint.

Blaine shrugs.

"I don't understand how you get away with stunts like this and aren't in my house."

"If I'd wanted to be in Slytherin, I'd have stayed at Durmstrang. Having that stupid hat kick me in with you wannabes was not an option."

"What did you do?" Kurt asks hesitantly.

"Made sure I was high out of my mind when they put that thing on my head."

"Seriously? You confused the Sorting Hat with Muggle drugs?"

"Don't even start, you're a mudblood and we both know it."

Kurt bristles. Blaine ignores it.

"Anyway, it was totally on to me," Blaine continues, taking another hit off the joint and offering it to Kurt who holds up a hand and shakes his head.

"So what happened?"

"I told it I would get it so fucking high it wouldn't be able to alphabetize much less sort. And here we are."

"Wait, so you manipulated the Sorting Hat into not putting you in Slytherin?"

"More like threatened. But yeah."

"I'm almost impressed. But mostly I'm confused. How would you even get the Hat high?"

"No idea. Figured I could cross that bridge if I came to it." Blaine offers the joint to Kurt again. "You sure you don't want some?"

The first one is actually very wistful and romantic.

The second one is amazing--snobby bad boy Blaine confounding the sorting hat and nailing sneaky little Slytherin Kurt as a Mudblood. It's quite a leap of the imagination, but works on so many levels.

This Doctor Who / Klaine / Glee stuff has been my crack this hiatus, so to see you do it is all kinds of brilliant. I've admired your writing quietly for a long while.
Also anything HP related is always wonderful.

I checked this out for the HP!verse ficlet, but found myself in love with the Doctor Who one instead. It's so quietly strong; Kurt knows all this and doesn't try to fight it, because he knows that it's already so much more than he ever expected. I also love the idea of Blaine being the one to be constantly running. I know it's not a new one to fandom, especially since in his first appearance he states he ran away, but the way you tie it to how he never had a home except for Kurt, and now the TARDIS, is brilliant. That's why he could follow Kurt to McKinley. Because as lovely as Dalton was, it wasn't home. Kurt is home.

I am all kinds of amused by the Harry Potter. (Alas, my Who vocabulary is somewhat worse than my Norwegian.) I'm way proud of Blaine for threatening the Sorting Hat. That thing is the true SMOF.
