Since tumblr is way ass broken

So that was cracktacular Glee, which I like best, The weirder the show is, the better it works.

It was also a VERY well-structured episode, and as much as I hated to miss the Kurt & co showdown at Dalton with "I Want Your Back" I think the cut made the episode tighter.

Kurt getting his NYADA letter was amazing.

I believed every moment of Kurt's worry and misery over Blaine and that felt a little raw and personal and close to home for me, and I loved it.

Say what you will about Darren Criss, but he brought it on "Wanna Be Startin' Something'"

"Smooth Criminal," even with Santana fronting afterwards was still terrifying.

Quinn's Yale plotline is ridiculous, but good for her. There's one story closed. Her speech to Rachel was great.

WOULD SOMEONE PLEASE BELIEVE ME NOW THAT RACHEL AND FINN ARE A TRAGEDY?

Blaine is a ridiculous human being and I have no idea how anyone, much less DC, of all people, can play anyone that earnest. But I guess I bought it or I wouldn't have been hiding behind my hands laughing so hard.

TRENT WARBLER, YOU ARE THE BEST.

Artie going off on Schue. Yes please. And Kurt being all, "I agree with you but please stop, please, please stop talking about us, just let me worry."

I am pathetic predictable creature of the Internet, but give me all the fic ever about Blaine worrying about his surgery or Kurt worrying about Blaine while he's in surgery.

WHere was Tina after, like, the first scene?

"Ben" is a terrible song. Colfer sounds beautiful on it. Leah Michele got the creepy verse, and really, Finn, how about you not talking about Blaine getting shunned as if that's normal? God, so awkward. I really feel for someone like Blaine, because I think he wonders why he gets bullied so hard so often, he sees why someone like Kurt gets it, but he tries so hard to fit in and.... don't reinforce his sense of just being "wrong," please.

Kurt and the modesty-focused clothes again!

So next week's episode looks totally terrible, right?

Finn and Rachel are a trainwreck in slow motion.

And I should feel worse than I do that I was rooting for her NOT to get in to NYADA.

Don't feel bad, you're not alone (to borrow a phrase). Though there's still the question of how she'll actually do in the audition...

I really want her to have a parallel scene to Finn in which she is judged on her merits by someone outside and unaware of the McKinley/New Directions scheme of things and found wanting, and has to adjust to that. The auditions would be perfect for that to happen.

It's a trainwreck that was coming since last summer, when the pair of them put a timeframe on their relationship that was mature and realistic - they said until graduation. Then at some point this year, both of them had crises of confidence about their future and started clinging wildly to each other, making more and more desperate gestures of commitment - Rachel's virginity, the engagement, Finn's promise to follow her to NY (or, in the subtext, wherever she goes). The fact that they're making less mature decisions than a year ago, and we see the paths that people like Quinn and Kurt (and Santana briefly mentioning her future) are going down, and it's obvious that Finn and Rachel need a huge kick in the arse to make them realise how crazy and immature they're being. The thing is, unless the writers radically alter what they are forming as the basis for season 4, Finchel will still be held up as the gold standard for high school couples who, somehow in all their dysfunction and mess, continue to be together for all the wrong reasons after graduation. Do NOT want!

Kurt's entire NYADA letter scene with Burt was completely fantastic. It had shades of all of their previous talks, right back to when Kurt came out. Lovely, lovely moment of Burt forgetting his kid's 18, and picking him up and swinging him round like he was a little boy. Burt's little mention of 'can I tell Blaine the news' was just adorable. Blaine's essentially Son Number 3 now, isn't he? I suspect Burt's counting on Blaine coming over to see him and Carol after Kurt and Finn move out to help him deal with losing two sons at once to the world of college. He can still be a dad to the one still in high school. It speaks so much of the developed relationship between Burt and his son's boyfriend. Burt knows the answer immediately when Kurt asks him how Blaine's doing, he's just as involved in Blaine's life as Kurt is.

Burt wanting to be the one to tell Blaine just about cracked my heart in half. Blaine is officially a Hummel!

When Kurt said he was a finalist, my 73-year old Mum hollered "Top o' the world!" Then we had to rewind so she could enjoy Burt lifting Kurt off his feet and swooping him around again.

I remembered my own Dad, and how proud he was when I got into university, the first person in our entire family, on both parental sides, to do so. Like the hospital scenes and Kurt's pain in Grilled Cheesus, I am never not going to cry at Kurt and Burt's reactions to Kurt being a finalist.

The narrative stakes for the character are so high now it's likely I'll never forgive Glee if they don't allow Kurt to be his awesome self, to go in full-tilt in all his power and emotional complexity and *kill* that audition. I don't know what possible alternative scenario could equal, let alone exceed NYADA for Kurt and Rachel. I do not want Kurt to fail.
