Two very brief things that sum it all up.


Neo is the Gnostic Lucifer



Neo is the Kwisatz Haderch


On a more lucid occassion I'm sure I'll expound on one or the other and why the movie makes very very clear that this is in fact the case.

Also, one second viewing, I realized that the answer to _everything_ is in the first 60 or so seconds of the film. Very fucking clever.

Additionally, I would strongly recommend a quick google on the Merovingian for anyone looking to unravel the film's mythology.

Everyone who dissed the first movie as simplistic mainstream Christian allegory was seriously wrong.

oh, I'm so glad someone else has been thinking Kwisatz Haderach. :)

I really liked the concept of the Remainder slowly adding up over the generations until it finally reaches an amount too big to be ignored.

The implications of that, plus the manufactured Zion as just another part of the overall plan, and that this has been done a number of times before, plus the now questionable motives of the Oracle...

ah, bliss....

Yes, it made my head spin quite beautifully, contemplating the ramifications in our own world.

I think I'm going to need to see it again this weekend. I'm wondering if the "distance" I was feeling from it may have been due to the fact that the screen I saw it on was actually ridiculously small.
