the transparent world
Sep. 4th, 2004 06:35 pmI went to B&N today toget the third HH book and the Vanity Fair soundtrack, and they have new shopping bags now that are clear.
I wasn't really thrilled about tis, because people can see what you purchase and I'd be a happier person if people on the bus could have one less remotely legitimate reason to speak with me. And then I wondered if the origin of this idea was design principal, theft prevention, or convenience in the age of terrorism.
In other news, I hate all my icons and my skin is really itchy.

Date: 2004-09-04 04:54 pm (UTC)There is a daybook that the AP publishes each day (mainly internal to the AP) of everywhere the president will be/has gone, so they can use it for reference in stories.
Find the presidential daybook for the day in question which should have the church visit in there (although if it doesn't that's not a definitive no). Then use the Internet to determine buildings in the area and start making phone calls.
While the telling of the story is clunky in a way that makes me vaguely suspicious, that sort of lockdown situation isn't that uncommon, and I'd say it's entirely possible that it happened -- I'd give it a 60% and I'd bump it up further (80%) if you can verify the church visit.
