Who the fuck invented button-down collars and can we ban them (both the collars and the inventor) for the rest of human existence?

Also... guh... hot hot guy in Citarella today. But I had too many frozen goods to do anything but turn my head really really conspicuously. (let's note, for a moment that "hot hot guy" means "totally in keeping with my current fantasy life, and as such, probably not that hot to anyone but me").

I hate button-down shirts with ties. Hatehatehate. Collar stays all the way, baby. None of this floppy collar thing for me. Without ties...I'm slightly more ambivalent, though I'll always iron and starch a button-down flap so it looks like it's not a button-down.
