Snazzy luggage (something that was absurdly important to me -- I've spent a huge amount of my past airport time looking half dead and completely disorganized, but that was some other life that I don't really approve of anymore), earplanes and pressure socks are now winging their way to me. I have about a billion more things that must get done before this trip (a haircut, reading materials, snacks, a CD wallet, heels on my shoes, etc.), but slowly and surely this is all getting done.

I remain completly weirded out by it all, but yay Ebags sale. The luggage is plum-colored -- a 29" suiter roller thingy, and a matching carry-on bag. And yes, I am preoccupied about what to wear on the plane, but not because of my insane vanity but because it will be like 30 degrees here and over 100 degrees there, and I'll be on a plane for just _ages_ and it's always cold on planes, and that's all hard to plan around and yes, I want to look all cute when I land, because really, this is me merely justifying my insane vanity.

one I flew from fall in the nw to a more tropical location for a family event; I was on the plane for hours and hours (like, 2 or 3 layovers, I may have even slept on the plane) and after I got off it was a LOT warmer than it had been anyplace else. my family member looked at me and said something like "I HOPE you're going to do something different to your HAIR before tomorrow" and I nicely pointed out I wasn't planning on crossing the country(ies) and/or sleeping on a plane again before then (and it's possible that I was even planning on taking a shower!).

so I guess I'm supporting your vanity and suggesting something like taking toner or witch hazel [I don't wear foundation or blush so can put stuff on my face pretty easily] to splash on your face/hairline/scalp along the way. now I might also take something like rosewater spray, that isn't overpowering but makes me feel a little more alert and together.
