Excuse me while I have a Project Runway moment.

But I love Austin... Did we see it tonight? Did we see what he was wearing? I just adore him, in part because he might be exactly the creature I wanted to be when I was 13 -- too much Oscar Wilde will do that. Also, if I had money (which I don't) I would track him down and have that fabulous dress he did for the cotton challenge ( http://www.bravotv.com/Project_Runway/Episode_2/The_Runway/Austin.shtml#rw_top although it's a not great photo of a phenomenal dress) made for me. I so wanna have a red carpet moment in one of his dresses. Aie.

He really has a very formal haute couteur sensibility. Sometimes his designs drove me mad, but he has a ton of talent. Very fun, very vintage, glamor out the wazoo.

I'm a big Kara Saun fan, myself (and yes, I did like Wendy, too).

Kara Saun is really really excellent, and probably the person who can most put together a coherent line (and will win) -- Austin's too young and out of his mind right now, and someone needs to tell Jay that he's not Betsy Johnson (although I think he will do well for himself)....

*laugh* "YES!!" about Jay; he's got some great ideas, but nothing coherent---and he's still too derivative. Wendy's got some coherency in design, and her tailoring is pretty good, but her stuff is just too "hit and miss" for my taste. She wants to win so badly that she compromises far too easily.

Wow, and here I thought I was one of the only people watching this show. ;-)

No, we're obsesed with it here. Wendy is so unlikeable it amazes me. And while reality shows play that up, she really is awful. I dislike most of her deisgns, and I think she's poor at sewing and construction. I have liked some of her concepts though and she did very well with the Banana Republic challenge. I don't think she'll ever make art, but can she make a living deisgning to the specifications of some larger entitle (like Banana Republic)? Probably.

In my opinion, Wendy's biggest problem is that she's too weak, from start to finish. That's why I think she's so whiny, why she compromises, and why she loses the coherency that she does have. She waffles and fusses and doesn't pull it together until the last second. However, when she has a strong idea that she can stick with, she does a pretty good job.

I've never seen the show, but in the pictures of him, he LOOKS very similar to my odd mental image of Lestat.

Which will make perfect sense until you see him on the show, opening his eyes really wide and freaking the hell out about everything.

Everytime we see him on the television, Luci make a tiny inarticulate noise. I can't tell if he wants to punch him in the face or kiss him. But it's a really bizarre, intense reaction.

I love that boy's cheeks.

I find myself doing that head-snap double take every time I walk by the TV.
