Not to be all Harry Potter, Harry Potter! but _damn_ I'm only on chapter five and I'm disturbed by how right the fandom has been about stuff. Woah.

I was wondering. Because there are quite a few disturbingly intelligent people in the fandom, and too many of them are also disturbingly good writers.

And, as things go, too many books these days are written so predictably that one wonders why we read them.

I'm envious; doctor and mother have teamed up and therefore I shan't get my copy until (hopefully?) some time tomorrow.

Let's just say there are prevalent fandom theories about Percy, Remus and Sirius, Snape, The Ministry, Ron and Hermione that have, 150 pages in proven to be true, or are strongly being hinted at as to being true.

Several of my friends from med school were Harry Potter fans. I couldn't believe it. I thought only children liked that sort of stuff.

I am amazed by how uncomfortable the book is. Like, really really really. This business with the Umbridge woman is making it hard for me to read the thing -- people trying to convince people that two plus two equals five, seriously pushes my buttons.

Yeah, I actually started crying hysterically during one of the scenes because I couldn't understand how Harry didn't, if that makes sense.

Umbridge infuriated me.
