two unrelated but quasi-pressing questions

I sent my taxes in on the afternoon the 15th. How long should I expect it to take for them to deposit my checks -- i.e., when should I worry they didn't get it? (added: I owed them money... I'm not looking ofr my refund, I want to make sure they got my payment).

If I were going to pull a directing resume out of my ass (I've actually been an AD on a couple of stage things), can anyone point me to a good format, or a tip on how to do one with little-no credits... it's nothing pressing, this is just something I want to try my hand at and I see an opportunity. (if I had enough hair, I'd hide behind it, but let's get real).

Ah... okay... cool.... so the fact that at most they've had it for two days is nothing for me to be concerned about. I figured they'd be even faster about it.

Nope. In fact, I seem to recall them taking almost a month with my check.
