nyc chiropractor rec?

I'm apparently out of alignment, and considering how my back feels, and the way I sit at my desk job at the amount of physical labour at my second job, and all that artsy writhing around or whatever this makes sense.

I've never been to a chiropractor, and I don't have insurance. Any New Yorkers with a rec? How much should I expect it to cost?

sorry i have no idea about cost (i'm fortunate with the healthcare right now.)

but, i am really happy with this chiropractor:

Giraldo, Paulina, DC
928 Broadway
Ste 505
New York, NY 10010-8143
212-228-5554

when you see her, it's almost never for just a "chiropractic adjustment". you usually get the electrical stimulation (if needed) as well as a full deep tissue massage first.

if you have bad knots or really tightly bound muscles, that electrical stim is a life saver.

I see a chiroractor on Ave B & 3rd st. My insurance covers it though, so I'm not really sure what to tell you about cost.

I'm going in on Monday, and can find out then for you, if you'd like.

Try:

Graceful Services
1097 2nd Avenue
Between 57th - 58th St
Second Floor
212-593-9904

They offer Chinese massage, but it seemed to do me as much good as a chiropractor .

I've never been to a chiropractor and am not a local... that said, I was having severe lower back pain that would wake me up in the middle of the night. I decided to try seeing a massage therapist (who was also a naturopath and did acupuncture). My back pain and spine was put back into alignment through massage as apparently muscle tension and strain can put the spine out of alignment. I went once a month for about 6 months and it eliminated the problem.

I dont know how it is in NY but thier are certain standard rates. Usually an adjustment goes for about 70, if they want to do electro stimulation usually its another 50..and if you decide to add massage on it adds another 25-100 depending on how long the massage is and what type it is.
