Last night I got to attend a benefit for free on the good graces of a friend with a guest list. It was a huge food and wine tasting thing at Capitale with all the top New York restaurants. I kept joking that I'd never eaten so many different animals in my life: rabbit, pig, beef, salmon, tuna, shrimp, duck, etc. and it was all mostly spectacular. I have a full menu from the thing that I may post later, but that would require me posting all the other things I need to post... like the continuation of the Australia diaries and so forth.

Ted Allen from Queer Eye was there, and unlike most famous people I've met, he actually looks exactly the same. At one point I poked Ashley and said, "Ted! By the rabbit table!" which was so absurd on so many levels wekept cracking up.

Then of course there was the goody bag containing a big ladel, and Eileen Fisher gift card that I gave to my roomie (although I'm thinking hte card was preprinted so we could probably both use that code, but I don't think there's anything there that's my style), and a _massive_ gift certificate for www.skinklinic.com that may allow me to get the microdermabrasion necessary to remove my acne scaring.
