What is with the overactive Hare Krishnas outside my window this morning?

The Anzac biscuits Unibic is now selling in the U.S. are not exactly the same as the Australian ones. The difference is small, but I can taste it, so they lose. I like the Arnott's Butter Snap ones better anyway. I blame [livejournal.com profile] deslea.

Believe it or not I really don't gawk over celebrity photos all that often, and least not in a pure "wow, hot!" way, but wow, I think I just died a little over one. Heh. Hey, that sound? That was [livejournal.com profile] rahalia_cat falling over.

I'm still so tired from this fucking cold. Has me really pissed off. But hey, my future card is the three of cups! (don't ask, play reference)

I have a lot of little crap to do today, none of it terribly important, difficult or stressful, but I feel stressed for some reason. I suppose it's the return to consciousness; maybe I can blame the Hare Krishnas?

[livejournal.com profile] catelin! Play?!?!?! I want to start workshopping this thing and I see opportunities (sort of like seeing dead people, only different). I should email you, but I needed more crap for this list.

Speaking of plays, I've got two of mine ready to send out but with no where to send them. Well not really. I sort of have half a plan. Maybe this weekend that can turn into all of a plan.

I want to go riding, but haven't since I've been back and really shouldn't until brain, money and other things are more stable. Growly. Also I feel like an ass about vaporizing and kinda don't want to call the stable and be one of those on again off again jackasses that make my instructor insane.

As usual, I owe people calls and emails (Cynthia if this is you reading randomly, hi!)

Goddamn it, someone review the fucking play already!

Anyone have any good, cheap, but not that flash frozen shit (and not Sushi Samba), sushi recs for the West Village? as I am supposed to socialize with [livejournal.com profile] patashoqua tonight.

I'm so curious about this celebrity photo thing that you may need to send it to me.

And speaking of celebrity photo things, while I was trawling through my image directory looking for something else entirely I found, of all people, Brian Slade. When did I upload images of Brian Slade?

Apparently people are leaning toward couch + alcohol + PTSD!Gabriel at the Dove on Friday. Between you and Megan, hash out a time and let me know so I can tell Velma and we can .. do whatever people do in that circumstance. Drink. If smoking were legal indoors, I'd smoke half a pack, and there would be that, also.

Brilliant. I get off work at 5, any time after and I will be there. Everyonewe know in common has been expressing a need to go back to that bar, so it sounds like a plan. Will mail you celeb hotness, although I think i'm the only person who gives a damn.

There is a place on Bleecker at Cornelia called Sushi Mambo that I like a lot. It is reasonably-priced. I don't eat the fish, so i can't testify to that, but they do have some really creative rolls made with other things, a good variety and a nice vibe. There is also a TEENY place over on Carmine, a few doors down from The Gray Dog, but I don't know the name of it.

Every year in July we go to the Portland Scottish Highland Games. We go to the Daughters of the British Empire tea tent. And we buy a dozen or two Anzac biscuits lovingly homemade by elderly Australian war brides. And it's the best snack we have all year.

Not really "west", but as I'm sure you know, Tomoe on Thompson just north of Houston has the best sushi this side of Nobu, and reasonably priced iirc. But there's always that long line outside.

Of course the best anzacs are homemade, or made at school under the watchful eye of your teacher, in April, and eaten before you get halfway home.

These days I hunt them out at markets.
