Lj'ers don't suck / how you can help animals

kathrynrose had the opportunity to meet a gorgeous dog by helping it get to her new home. In her posting about it, i found out about driveforlife which is a community where people willing to help transport animals to their new homes can be matched up with animals needing lifts. It's an ingenous use of LJ and answers the "oh if that homeless cat/dog wasn't so far away I'd take him in" problem.

I don't drive, but I'd encourage those who do and want to help out animals and people to check it out.

Hey, thanks for posting this. :) Every new person who hears about it is who-knows-howmany more dogs that might be saved, just by pitching in a couple hours of driving time. I had a great time, and got puppy kisses. :)
