Australian views on the "Australian" film industry and what qualifies as part there of: still crazy in the same way, I'll just make that note and not go on the same old rant.

Jury duty: so far, not so bad. August it seems is the month to do it, there are no cases.

Paychecks: The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Menstruation: still sucks.

Ambulances all over third street: I think there's a jumper.

HP Fanfiction: I don't even know where the good stuff is anymore... where's the good stuff? And similarly, where should I be pimping Decensus?

HBO: Dude could I be more psyched for ROME?

Directing: I've my first rehearsal tomorrow.

Villainess soaps: Lost owns me.

BPAL: I need a bottle of Whitechapel yesterday.

Jamba Juice: spectacular, other than it's called Jamba Juice and ordering crap like a Berry Lime Spinner or a Strawberry Surfrider or whatever either of those drinks are actually called makes me feel like an extra angry New Yorker. If I can't remember the names of the drinks, and they're _embarassing_, maybe you should call them something else.

Actually, B & 3rd: Is something always on fire there or what?

ordering crap like a Berry Lime Spinner

It's a California thing. I'm both glad to hear they've invaded NYC and amused that they haven't translated their menu to no-nonsense EastCoastEse.

We were often embarrassed by what the teas were named, particularly Night Night, and Matevana, which is the saddest attempt at branding I've ever seen.

I'm mildly intimidated by Jamba Juice. I don't feel trendy enough to enter one.

It's so not trendy. It makes me feel like a fucking soccer mom.

ha. Any time I'm near one, I only encounter people who think they're beautiful. Soccer moms would be something of a relief.

It's probably a time of day thing.

Send me into a Starbucks, I demand either a plain fucking coffee, or a Coke. Send me into a Jamba Juice, I start breaking out in healthy hives and demand a coffee. Even though I've been drinking the mellow West Coast tap water for years, I still have an angry East Coast attitude towards froofy drink names. And froofy drinks, usually, but when I can't drink half the juices at Jamba for dietary reasons, and can't have milk in my coffee ditto, a pattern starts to emerge. In booze, too, but that's another story. More than two ingredients in my drink, forget it.

Also, ditto on the HP fanfic; I don't have a clue where to start looking for good stuff, or where I might consider putting some, but I'd like to know. I have several thou wordes of annoying little Slytherin girl to unleash on an unsuspecting world.

Yeah, I mean, I love the Jamba Juice, but I miss the good ol' days of Smoothie King where I could get a light and fluffy (strawberries, OJ, bananas, rasberries, and lemon yogurt) without feeling like a tool.

Actually, B & 3rd: Is something always on fire there or what?

Yes.

Something is in fact ALWAYS on fire on B & 3rd.
As for Jamba Juice, there's a new one in my neighborhood, and I live in fear. The lines are always out the door.
But how can you be humiliated by stupid names? Aren't you a devotee of IHOP, home of the Rooty-Tooty Fresh 'n Frooty?

But I've never ordered that.
Ever.
