WASHINGTON - Top U.S. disaster official Michael Brown, under fire over the federal response to Hurricane Katrina, cited prior emergency-management experience in an official biography but his duties were “more like an intern,” Time magazine reported.

Yeah, which I realize happens all the time. But people don't usually die because of it. I know the president is protected by lawsuits because of his office, but man, I hope people go after this fucker.

I think there's a big difference in having narrowed your qualified candidate list down to two or three and tending to go with someone you know personally, versus just cherry picking random jobs out of hats for your pals. The latter seems like it happens a lot in this administration.
