In which I am harassed for being a Jew
Oct. 15th, 2005 05:59 pmFor the record, I've had people say antisemitic things to me before, but like, conversationally. You know. "Oh, you're such a Jew" or some bizarre inaccurate assesment about Jews thinking I wasn't one. But never with anger. Just stupid superiority, which is what most people do about all sorts of people all the time. I'm not saying it's not bad, I'm jsut saying it's unremarkable. common, and not even very alarming.
I've never had anyone just scream at me, "You Jew!" as if I needed no insults, as I was already the worst thing a person could already be.
I suppose I'll eventually find this illuminating.

Try setting that person on fire, and then it will be illuminating for you both.
I'm not religious, but wasn't there some relevant biblical saying I once heard? Something like:
Light a man a fire, and he'll be warm for the night.
Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life
I should be ashamed of myself, shouldn't I? 8-)
