There's going to be a TropfestTribeca. I don't know what to think! Part of me is really happy and part of me is like "ugh, now I have to go to Tribeca," which is a fate I've thus far avoided (the film festival, not the nabe).

I've toyed with at least writing something for Tropfest since I've been back, and now that there's a NY one, I feel like even more obligated to at least pen something, if not make a little crappy short film of my very own. Of course, part of me is all "but I don't know how!" but then, hav I known how to do any of this?

Same here, (and yay, apartment mates who work in the field and have their own equipment), although I would've preferred "bubble" to "manhole cover," I think.

Well, the Oz festival continues to take international submissions, although I dunno when the deadline is/was. Also, it doesn't have to e a story element, just in a shot, which I think actually makes it harder, because the impulse becomes to makeit a story element. And honestly, the buttle thing has got to be way more of a bitch to get pretty in a shot.

Oh dude, have I told you my cracked story about convincing this girl that rabid wild chihuahuas roam the streets of New York and infest buildings and stuff? I should make a little mockumentary thing about that. perfect for the manhole cover.

I said it, and then like the whole thing coalesced in my head in a scary shot for shot sort of way. I guess I know what my next PitA project is.

Man, everyone at NIDA would laugh their asses off at me. I was so _serious_ and so anti-comedy and so "oooo, directors" and they'd be like "why's the freak making a chihuahua movie?"
