Basically, someone who was raised as a fundamentalist Christian talks about what the Left Behind books' sales numbers mean in an America that hates books.
This is not a friendly article, and while cogently argued and making pains not to attack Christianity but a very particular violent and death-obsessed streak in parts of American Christianity, it may well raise your hackles.

Date: 2005-12-19 06:31 pm (UTC)Funny thing, that excerpt of LaHaye's writing reminds me a lot of the kind of stuff that I would have written in High School. In an effort to be "adult" and "mature", I would have put in a lot of crawling guts and smashed skulls, just to be graphic. It sounds very immature even today.
