Basically, someone who was raised as a fundamentalist Christian talks about what the Left Behind books' sales numbers mean in an America that hates books.

This is not a friendly article, and while cogently argued and making pains not to attack Christianity but a very particular violent and death-obsessed streak in parts of American Christianity, it may well raise your hackles.

Scary stuff, and his analysis of the dangers of the sort of vileness is spot on. A better argument for fleeing the US is difficult to find.
