I couldn't resist

Meme from [livejournal.com profile] splix

If you could fix me up with any fictional character, who would it be and why?

Ward Cleaver

Because I want to see the look on his face when you argue with him.

Hahaha! Brilliant!

Atticus Finch [nice if he showed up looking like Gregory Peck] - I think you would find his code of honor appealing.

Bwa!!! Oh god, that's so great.

What makes that greater is that that I played the grown up version of Scout in a stage production of To Kill a Mockingbird back in the day (I'm rm's roomie).

Synchronicity! :)

this is hard!

Ariane Emory, to conquer the galaxy.

AEI or AEII?
(and using those initials makes her sound like a yacht).

I think AEII. Better personal relationship, I would guess.

Dominique Francon

Just to see what happens.

who's that/what's it from?

Re: Dominique Francon

From Ayn Rand's The Fountainhead.

Which ought to tell you something right there.

She's very....forthright.

[identity profile] rm.livejournal.com 2005-12-22 08:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah. Ayn Rand annoys me, but as with everyone, I went through my phase with it. The thing is, I've read that -- clearly I blocked it out.

[identity profile] algor.livejournal.com 2005-12-22 08:57 pm (UTC)(link)
I just figured you'd be able to handle her.

And I know what you mean about Rand. I remember starting that book, but damned if I can remember if I finished it.

I wrote a bunch of book reports on her stuff in 7th grade, bot perhaps more importantly, remember the annoying kids from The Objectivist club at my university, and that the closest friend I've ever had a truly spectacularly ugly "breakup" with was someone who still truly admired Rand into her twenties. I mean, I should have seen that shit coming.

Re: Dominique Francon

[identity profile] algor.livejournal.com 2005-12-22 09:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah. Rand is always a clue that something's not quite right.

I admire elements of Rand's philosophy, but I think that anyone who agrees totally is, well, a little scary in bad ways.

How about some nice Snape action? Some I know would lovvvvvve that... mmm mmm.

Laughing my ass off at the phrasing, butsure, bring that on1

Jeeves

I would see that as an ever increasing series of one-upmanships that could only be earth-shakingly brilliant...

Ha!

[identity profile] coyotegoth.livejournal.com 2005-12-23 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
Probably Brian Slade, not least for the discussion about fashion.

[identity profile] rm.livejournal.com 2005-12-23 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
I'm really interested n how many people are chosing peopel based on the hostilities likely to occur.

[identity profile] coyotegoth.livejournal.com 2005-12-23 12:50 am (UTC)(link)
That is interesting, although nto what I had in mind.

[identity profile] rm.livejournal.com 2005-12-23 12:54 am (UTC)(link)
Fair enough. I think many other peopel would be in that instance though. Even I, who thinks Brian Slade is the hottest shit ever thought to myself "what? do people want to see which lizard devours the other or what?"

Lily Bart

Because she's a New York girl, and one of my favourite characters ever. And hot.
