rmNew Year's was amazing. I don't understand why people go to Times Sqaure to watch the ball drop, when we wandered into the park sometime after 11, sat down by the angel fountain, and watched fireworks right over our heads (as close as I've ever been ti fireworks) at midnight with no sense of being crowded in upon at all.
Durng it, a little boy came up to us, maybe around ten, said hello, introduced himself and wished us happy new year, in such a lovely, formal precocious way, especially after breaking off from his friends who were all being horrid loud egregious kids. I think it was one of several really odd things that really stuck out abot the evening for both Kali and I. There was also great food at Tartine (althouhg one table of horrible people), much drinking, sleeping late, and much HDM discussion and descensus plotting. I think I have to go back to sleep now though.
