Well it was opening night, and truthfully, it was a bit anticlimatic, but we had a good, servicable show, and a good audience, and I feel like we're going to gain momentum both in our presentation of it and in terms of crowd draw.
And my cast rocks. They all chipped into to get me something, and then realized I'd probably dig the cash more, and so cash I got. It all evens out, as I'll probably bring a bottle of absinthe to the cast party for them all. That said, I'm going to put the money aside and use it to buy my Boheme ticket when a friend comes to visit at the beginning of May. It's important to me that I do something with the funds, as opposed to just funding my daily life, and that was the first thing I thought of that made the most sense.
The trip from the theater down to the piano bar was filled with all sorts of bizarre and trivial synchronicities as well as odd interactions with strangers that put a huge ridiculous grin on my face, and other than being far too tired, it was a remarkably pleasant night.
I'm a very lucky woman.
