My tests came back entirely normal, which is kind of frightening. I'm waiting for the doctor to call to see what we should do next. I'm scared that this means I'm seriously ill and might never be able to eat anything other than rice again.

Oh hun. I will keep thinking good thoughts for you. Are you able to digest broth?

*huggles*

Do you think it might be IBS? Have you looked into that?

It's possible that you've got some sort of late-onset intolerance: gluten, lactose, corn, other? All of those ingredients show up in some pretty sneaky places sometimes. I went a good 2 1/2 months not being able to eat anything but potatos before I was able to get to the doc who finally diagnosed the celiac.

I hope you figure it out soon; I know how miserable it can be.

Wow, I seriously hope it's something simple and treatable and not some terrible allergy or IBS!

Suffering an undiagnosed stomach thing myself I can tell you it's no fun.

Good luck.

I had something similar (if definitely milder) that had doctors stumped for several years. In addition to the obvious (but annoyinbgly long) answer of an elimination diet, I also got useful info from going to a naturopath. I think most naturopathy is complete junk, and some of their recommendations are useless, but you might try going to one and seeing if things improve if you follow their recommendations.

Many health-promoting vibes headed your way from the Left Coast. I did wonder if, since miso seems difficult, could soy be a culprit?

This really sounds suggestive of food tolerance issues of some sort.
Hoping that a resolution is found soon.
