Didn't get the Proto-type gig, but that's cool. I feel good about the whole thing anyway, and now need to think "waltz scene" over and over, as that would be some beautiful cash money. And I have auditions the next two weekends, so that's something.

And I think I've decided to go get new glasses today. It's been years. And so this is an entirely necessary "extravagence."

Finally, I can now eat chicken, avocado, corn muffins and peanut butter, in addition to all that rice and toast nonsense. I even had vitamin water and a dairy-free chocolate chip cookie the other day without my body going completely insane. I'm not going to add new foods for bit, but just work on eating more of these without incident.

Thank goodness for vegan cookies.

What kind of glasses are you considering?

I think, for the first time ever, I want rectangles instead of ovals. And I think I want thick, although posibly translucent frames. I dunno, maybe it's working with the Germans, or accepting the reality of the fact I wear glasses. I dunno, glasses are hard for me, as I have to accomodate several vociferous personal aesthetics and the acting reality as well.

I'm gonna guess that you may, like me, have a small/narrow head, and be a bit tricky to fit for glasses. Get somebody at the glasses store to explain the numbers on the left temple; you may find that most standard frames come in widths of around 46, 48, 50 or even larger. My narrow face is about a 42. (The numbers will look something like: 44[ ] 21-143. I forget what the other two numbers are - model number perhaps - but the first two-digit number is some sort of width measurement of the frame. You want your eye to be more-or-less centered in the lens; if the frame is too big for your face, theere will be a lot of space on the outsides.

When I first went to get glasses, I was almost in tears because none of the new narrow frames looked right on me. (I still had Eighties bubble glasses.) A glasses guy explained the width thing to me, measured my head, and suggested I look at Japanese frames especially, as they run smaller. Within fifteen minutes I'd gone from a pile of a half-dozen glasses all of which looked horrible, to a half-dozen all of which looked good to great.

Glad you're eating better; hope it continues.

I succeeded with exactly what I wanted and a pair of cat eyes -- the solution? reading glasses, except for me they aren't!

Oh, hey, I'll have to try that myself.
