Walking down the street in my pseudo gentleman's wear of another era, a scruffy guy about my age couldn't stop staring at me. Not in a lustful way, and not hateful either, just sort of... frenzied, I guess you would call it -- like he'd been searching for UFO's all his life, saw me and realized I was little green men. I kept walking faster, scooting around people so he'd stop looking at me. Finally, as I fail at this at a curb, he says to me, "I know what you are." As the light changes, and I try to disappear into the farmer's market this happens two more times.

I'm so many things that people have the need to name out like a curse I have no idea what of those he could be on about.

So I give up, and I stop and I look at him, and say, "And what a nice change of pace it is, but now will you shut your goddamn mouth?"

The fucked up part? It worked.

Scruffy and frenzied earlyish in the morning by where - Union Square? For some reason I just think "drugged".

Not early in the morning, just now, like 5pm at Union Square.

Ah - I thought the Farmers' Market closed before then.

No, as long as it's daylight, it's there.

Thanks, all credit should go to Kythryne at Wearable Sculpture. She found some cool faceted pieces.

That was my first thought, as well. Spirit from another time, body stuck in the third millenium.

Sounds liek the making of some good fiction, there. Though I saw a movie trailer near similar to this recently ... .but still set in the current era. Like 2 ppl who are a few years appart.

The universe is full of people like that, unfortunately.

"I'm so many things that people have the need to name out like a curse I have no idea what of those he could be on about."

For what it's worth, every once in a while, it's a naming out like a blessing, or a reification of something other people hope exists.

Yeah, I mean, whatever this was, at least it probably wasn't Jew drama.
