Part of me is just _aching_ right now, because [ETA: some other rare book shop that is not] the Argosy is hiring. Of course, having both Latin and German, an advanced degree and experience with rare books is preferred. But it's a really sexy fantasy for me. That's all. Continue on.

I might go by there later to check it out. Not that I have any desire to work at a bookstore but I have all of those qualifications except for experience with old books. I would be interested to see what that sort of job pays.

Frankly I think I would hate cataloguing books since I'm a big computer dork and would probably go into violent withdrawl if I couldn't spend all day doing something technical. However, as someone with an undergrad double-major in German and Classics with an MA as well, it's nice to know that there are more jobs out there than the one I have :).

That being said, I'm dying to know how much something like that would pay.

Depends on the research aspects I suppose. The 1661 book I bought for Kali there had a name plate in it from the person who owned it in the 1920s, which turned out to be a minor US Political figure and it made the whole story of the book far weirder and more interesting than I had anticipated on purchase. If you get to dig into crap like that, sort of cool.
