I am listening to a podcast for the first time ever. As someone who has never been much of a radio person, and especially not much of a talk-radio person, I find this beyond weird. Of course, this might have to do with the subject matter (Yes, I'm listening to Snapecast, and it's howlingly funny). But so weird.

I finally tuned in to the mildly wonderful world of pod casts about six months ago. Its occasionally useful as a form of "hands free" news gathering when I want to put nose to grindstone at work don't want to flip between my RSS reader and outlook as much as I'd like. The only trouble is that I've found my rentention of audio material is poor.

The non-corporate material I find to be no different than the rest of the internet. A few winners, a lot of crap, but mostly lots of dead ends as people abandon their projects after 3 iterations and never take it down.

I stick to the newscasts from the BBC and CNN, the chatter at Slate, and occasionally I find a good interview or two. Eventually, the reliably good sites stay active, the boring ones get dropped. but it takes time.
