That has very much not been my experience. I thought The Sixth Sense was utterly and amazingly brilliant (despite my having figured out the plot twist from seeing the trailer and not even knowing it was supposed to be a surprise until I talked to other people), and Unbreakable was close to it. In contrast, almost every official review and every person I knew who saw The Village said it was dismal. Signs was a fascinating but also flawed film about faith
Oh dear, we definitely do not walk down the same side of the street when it comes to films... he he
I found Unbreakable to be one of the dullest films ever, weak character development, unnecessary scenes and a blatant twist jammed in at the end.
The Sixth Sense is so, so overrated and also with a weak twist that was more than a little obvious, even for those not seeing the trailer.
I have many issues with this film but my main one is why the boy never had the misty breath when talking to Willis (oh, because then you'd figure out the twist earlier!)
The Village was an interesting critique of modern-day U.S.A. and allowed the wonderful Bryce Dallas-Howard to shine in one of her better roles.
Great soundtrack too!
Nice to bandy comments with you though and I like your icon too!
