I bought a fabulous pair of desperately needed new boots today (the old ones are literally falling apart). While the heel is quite high, and therefore the books are somewhat unavoidably feminine, they are also chunky and period and look hot in my weird Regency-esque male way. So that's good. They were also cheap. And were _not_ the hothothot $250 pair of equestiran boots I didn't even really have to struggle to refrain from buying).

[livejournal.com profile] tsarina has pointed out that my fashion foibles are once again justified by the latest stuff from Dolce & gabbanna. Oh yes, I remember when everyone was all, "What is this, Adam Ant?" or "Why do you wear your pants tucked in to your boots?" Now I am the hottest thing ever. Ha.

Ordered neck stocks tonight. Yay. still having _serious_ problems as regards clocked stockings and breeches, although I may have found a solution for both, that qill probably require some alterations that I can probably handle. If I could find a pattern that was my size, I'd make the damn breeches, but I am a girl. A leggy girl, and it's not working out so well. Hell, I can barely find patsn to fit me under the best and most normal of circumstances.

Finally, because the HP house kneesocks at sock-dreams are the cutest ever, I'm all "hrmmm, what costuming thing could I do where I could wear those, since I am not going to dress as a girl (other than my Bella costume and the saree), no, for Phoenix Rising. Then it occured to me that while not canon, the Hogwarts uniform with just above the knee pants and said knee socks would be a) good for the NOLA weather and b) funny. Like, really funny. Right?

Exactly. Except so painfully opposite it hurts, albeit hopefully in a cute way.
