This is quite old, branches after book 4. Great OCs, great Snape characterization. Great McGonogall characterization and great Slytherin commentary in general.

"Miss Bulstrode," warned Snape sternly, "if you cry at what I'm about to say I will thrash you. I am truly sorry that being a Slytherin means you have to suffer injustice from allies more often than attack from enemies."

I can think of some times in my life when I could have stood to sit quietly with that insight for a long time.
