I want to go to bed but there's a centipede the size of my head on the wall.
This would be reason #875 to spend January in Australia except... well... the spiders everyone keeps telling me about.

*growls*

Ugh, I've definitely been there. I hope you are able to find and dispatch it soon. A few weeks ago I saw a spider (the only thing I fear more than centipedes) on the wall when I went to bed next to our bed and was feeling generous and went to get a glass and an index card to catch it and release it outside. It had vanished when I got back, not good at all...

Centipedes?? Yikes! And I had just breathed a sigh of relief because someone told me ya'll don't have scorpions up there. Centipedes are even worse! : (

You didn't know we didn't have scorpions?

Anyway they aren't normal centipedes -- they are like 2-4 inches long and have feathery looking legs and are gold in color. Horrid.

Wait, that's what our Boston centipedes look like. What's "normal"?

They're out in this damp weather and change of season, it's awful. The cat likes to catch them under furniture and bring them to me in her mouth. Disgusting. But she looks so proud.

Real centipedes are much longer and have segmented worm-like bodies.

That's the centipede I was thinking of. We have them here too, and they are scary! Do the ones you have up there sting?

I just assumed that scorpions were everywhere. I was thrilled to know I wouldn't have to deal with them when I moved. Most bugs don't bother me, but scorpions really creep me out.

I am hurling a psychic shoe at it.

And don't forget the giant toads in Australia. Giant toads are go!
