Michael: Wow, what happened?

Laura: No one complains Vera Wang is limited in scope.

Uli: Probably the best combination of marketable, wearable and innovative of the bunch.

Jeffrey: Maybe it's something more in person, but on TV is seemed not that wearable and not exciting enough to make up for that fact. I don't get it. But then I like my deconstruction to be a "remembrance of a lost world" sort of thing as opposed to a "post apocalypse" sort of thing (which is also why Santino didn't really do it for me.

Hi there!

After the whole receipts/no receipts debacle, I was just sure that I didn't want Laura to win. It seemed like telling Tim Gunn that she suspected him of cheating was done purely for selfish political motives. If she had come to Jeffrey FIRST, and confronted him about it, I'd have had a lot more respect for her. But to tell him: "Oh by the way, I've already told Tim Gunn that I think you're a dirty cheater", served nothing but to cast doubt in the judges' minds on Jeff's designs, and force him off his game for the rest of the competition.

Ironically though, I thought Laura's designs were the best of the four. Yes, she fell into the same lacy, frilly, 1920s patterns that she's been doing all season. And yes, I don't know how wearable her stuff would be on women that do NOT look like runway models. But her stuff was really amazing and sexy.

Yeah, Michael Knight (whose name I can never say without immediatly humming the Knight Rider theme under my breath) really dropped the ball on the final designs. They looked cute, but we're just so used to seeing amazing things from him. I was surprised and a little disappointed.

I can't say enough good things about Uli. I wanted her to win, for two reasons: (1) She's always just such a positive person. All throughout the season, she's had the same happy, giddy personality, even when her designs were being torn apart by the judges. Even when Jeffrey won, you got the feeling that Uli was genuinely happy for him, and not just being civil for the cameras. (2)OMG the Hotness. I want to do dirty dirty dirty dirty things to Uli.

However, I realize that neither (1) nor (2) are even slightly valid reasons for her to have won. That would be a very different competition. Her designs did look very wearble by "normal" women, but other than that, I wasn't all that fond of them.

Jeffrey's stuff? It was pretty good. That one little dress with the zippers was cute. Sometimes I think Jeffrey goes a little too far with his edgy, rockin, L.A. designs, but for the most part, I did like his stuff. I used to HATE his personality, and between him and Laura, I thought they both deserved each other's venomous exchanges. But toward the end, I feel like we got to see more of him as a person, and I got the feeling that he could be a likeable guy. [shrugs] But as for his designs, they were ... okay. Far from great, but I'm not disappointed that he won. I'm just glad Laura didn't. :D (Even though she's also very hot and sexy, for an older woman)

What? I never claimed to be un-biased ... :)
