Luckily we got so much done in rehearsal yesterday I don't have rehearsal today -- which is good as it was exhausting physical work and I woke up feeling less than stellar. Besides I have to cook for a Roshahana party tonight and then tomorrow have a voice lesson, followed by a possible callback (I won't know 'til late tonight), followed by a show, followed by a party and then it's up at fuc o'clock to deal with the Hairspray thing on Monday.

I'm feeling okay about that at the moment. It's not a big deal at all, in that its an open call and any wanker can go -- think American Idol with more traditional dreams. But after perusing a gazillion songs and finally finding one I like, I feel like I can be in decent enough voice for it to maybe even wind up surprising myself (in a good way) a little, which is pretty much all I ask.

In news of the world -- http://www.memefirst.com/000009.html -- I tend to think the instantaneous nature of blogging isn't so much the problem here, as a world where:
- people have to be ashamed of who they love
- we talk about depression like a slur
- we have journalism that has developed this on-the-record/off-the-record bullshit
- people have batshit fans who like violence more than Noel Coward style cruelty
- we can edit the past, present and future

But hey, maybe that's just me.

I completely agree, in an even slightly more reasonable world this whole incident would have been totally impossible. Blaming blogging is missing the point.
