We have new, vaguely punk rock neighbors.

They have a flock of chihuahuas that bark at all hours of the day and night. My cats look at me blandly, as if to say, "Can't something be done about that? Such dogs are beneath our interest even as a food source." Nothing, for the record, is beneath Little Kitty's interest as a food source. Pretty is less interest in food, more interested in the killing and maiming.

It is 2:04am after Thanksgiving, and I am assailed by the sounds of chihuahuas. Don't they sleep? Of course, i realize what I've done to deserve this, and perhaps could unwittingly recruit the neighbors into the mockumentary.

I almost bought you a pug fridge magnet at Petco, but managed to restrain myself.

As an aside, while descending the stairs that night, I fully understood. I have some vertigo with stairs, regardless, but those were much worse than most.

It's weird, they don't seem it, but they've been near-miss central since we moved in.

What I noticed was that the actual step part is narrower than most sets of stairs, which adds to them feeling steep and precarious, and your building must be old, because the center of the steps has been worn down by foot traffic, making them uneven in places, plus the lighting is strange and the shadows are thrown in odd ways. It's a terrible combination.

They are very narrow -- I can't navigate them safely in heels at all. And the building is old, although I'm not sure how old. I know it's pre-1965 based on the fire codes, but I suspect it's far older than that.
