Today has been a day of a lot of terrible news. I am fine. My loved ones are fine. Their loved ones -- less so.

If you feel ike it, light a candle tonight in a vague, unfocused way. There's always someone who needs it anyway.

This whole week has been extreme upheaval .. in fact for the last month, but just in seven days, a friend's cat had to be put down, two friends are pregnant, two other friends got new jobs in very fortuitous manners, I witnessed another car accident on the way to work today, and my cousin was in a car accident shortly after that which evidently she should not have survived.
