Since I neglected to post this in any way remotely public - I'm celebrating my birthday by hanging out at Rose's Turn tonight, from about 9pm on. Feel free to drop by and add to the hilarity or what have you.

Of course I can type: I have pudding, after all.

And I thought of you while in the hospital. I started to read The Picture of Dorian Gray, which is the first Wilde I have ever read. I seem to remember also that you once posted a picture of yourself dressed as Wilde for Halloween, and the picture on the front of the book reminds me of that remembered picture.

I've never dressed as Wilde for Halloween, although my mother told me often enough I looked like him as a child. Oi, mom! Anyway, it's very much a product of its times, and as suc is nearly unreadable for a lot of epople, but it has some gorgeous moments. What do you think?

I don't know why I remembered it, then, although I can always blame the morphine.

I didn't get very far in the book yet, and I'll blame the morphine for that, too. I find Lord Henry absolutely fascinating, but Dorian's merely a beautiful blank slate. I'm interested to see where the setup goes, but, stylistically, I'm surprised by how hard it's been to read.
