I just thought of the idea for my next cranky gay article for Gather -- "I am not your (pornographic) minstrel show."

If you read slash, you've probably seen this wank. It's also entirely extensible to "straight" porn which tends to feature fake lesbians, and more PG gay-related/produced entertainment.

God, seriously. Wasn't that a big thing in slash a couple years ago, when some fundamentalist Christian chick announced she read and wrote porn, but didn't support gay rights? And some people were like, 'um, hello, that makes you a terrible person' and others were arguing, 'no, liking something in fiction doesn't mean you have to agree with it in reality'.

Ha. Until you get sick of it, I'd say. There are a million different ways to do this argument.
