That was the best headline I saw across the top of the Metro today. It felt so sci-fi! I'm excited as if I was 12.

*We* might never know, but I'd love to believe that our descendants would. Although I suppose we'll have doomed ourselves to extinction by then (and who's to say that similar creatures there haven't already done the same?)

The nifty thing is that the galaxy is filled with tiny cool red dwarfs stars like Gliese 581, and according to articles like this, tidally locked planets around M stars can certainly be habitable. It's also only 20 light years away.
