- I'd like to stop dreaming about other people's literary contracts real and imagined.

- I have to go to the post office.

- I'm hoping that perhaps I'll here from Patty in the next 48 hours if she manages to get into town and get online this weekend or if she managed to write when she first got there a letter might arrive soon. I'm also trying to be zen.

- LJ, oh LJ, there are still questions to be answered and you are all with the silent again.

- Wow, I really need to see Pirates and 28 Weeks Later. Maybe I'll see 28 Weeks Later this weekend, since I have access to a free Pirates screening next week.

- Only two days in, but [livejournal.com profile] novel_in_90 is going way better than expected.

- Baroque and Regency this weekend.

- Hey, paycheck is going to be on time!

I was just friended by [livejournal.com profile] lucy1965 and I'm fairly facinated/intrigued. It's like I've circled back to the ongoing fencing/peak oil joke.

The more I think about the whole LJ situation, the more I think that the SixApart CEO who caused this whole mess should adopt this song as his personal theme. Because it's so damn fitting.

My journal wasn't affected, but I'll still be going back to basic. I don't like the thought of them making free money off of my journal, which they can suspend with no warning because I say something someone doesn't like. I don't advocate illegal activity, but considering that "illegal" is a rather elastic term these days...

Yup, I keep sending them emails asking when they are going to delete all the gay, lesbian and bisexual journals, since that's illegal in many many jurisdictions.

Also, gotta love the people adding jaywalking to their interests list.

Bwa! I like that!

And yeah - will my support for gay marriage get my journal booted? That's illegal in Ohio, after all.

I think I may have to add "leaving chewing gum in public places" to my interest list, given that I just found out that it's illegal to do so in Cleveland. (source)

Oh, good heavens, I'm terribly sorry -- friending you was certainly my intent; I hadn't realized I was still logged in on this account!

I found your posts well-written and deeply moving; I am the sister of one gay man and the mother of another, and I share your fear that the next group targeted might be ours.

Thank you and welcome. Let me know if I should keep an eye out for a different journal from you friending me, or if I should reciprocate this one.

(the fencing gag, btw, is that I'm a classical fencer -- we train as if preparing for an actual engagement, which leads many people to ask "but what's it _for_" since you know, people don't really fight with swords these days. So I keep telling people it's so I can defend their honour of after peak oil comes and civilization collapses. Weirdly, after mentioning this in passing to another fencer, I found out that several people apparently reflexively say the same thing.

I fenced at university; 25 years ago in September, my word . . . .

I'm currently in the process of moving my RL content to Wordpress and hosting it at home, so perhaps it would be best to friend this journal: I don't plan to maintain the other even for the purposes of reading locked posts, as the majority of my f-list have already migrated to GJ.
