- I'd like to stop dreaming about other people's literary contracts real and imagined.

- I have to go to the post office.

- I'm hoping that perhaps I'll here from Patty in the next 48 hours if she manages to get into town and get online this weekend or if she managed to write when she first got there a letter might arrive soon. I'm also trying to be zen.

- LJ, oh LJ, there are still questions to be answered and you are all with the silent again.

- Wow, I really need to see Pirates and 28 Weeks Later. Maybe I'll see 28 Weeks Later this weekend, since I have access to a free Pirates screening next week.

- Only two days in, but [livejournal.com profile] novel_in_90 is going way better than expected.

- Baroque and Regency this weekend.

- Hey, paycheck is going to be on time!

I was just friended by [livejournal.com profile] lucy1965 and I'm fairly facinated/intrigued. It's like I've circled back to the ongoing fencing/peak oil joke.

Thank you and welcome. Let me know if I should keep an eye out for a different journal from you friending me, or if I should reciprocate this one.

(the fencing gag, btw, is that I'm a classical fencer -- we train as if preparing for an actual engagement, which leads many people to ask "but what's it _for_" since you know, people don't really fight with swords these days. So I keep telling people it's so I can defend their honour of after peak oil comes and civilization collapses. Weirdly, after mentioning this in passing to another fencer, I found out that several people apparently reflexively say the same thing.

I fenced at university; 25 years ago in September, my word . . . .

I'm currently in the process of moving my RL content to Wordpress and hosting it at home, so perhaps it would be best to friend this journal: I don't plan to maintain the other even for the purposes of reading locked posts, as the majority of my f-list have already migrated to GJ.
