I think i like the second one best...you have a long neck and that would really fit nicely.

It's rather femme, I think, but it would look cool as hell with my bustle skirt.

Personally, I'd vote for the first one, although I think you'd look smashing in any of those.

Meanwhile, that third jacket has me thinking about a cosplay idea I had the other day (remember the "1980s militaria" look that was briefly popular in the middle of the decade...?)

Oh yes. I mean, I blame huge, huge portions of my aesthetic on Adam Ant.

Just to be difficult, I like the last one best.

However, I must also say... curses! I want everything on this site!

OH me too. I think this is a "which one first" thing. FYI, they have an Ebay store and about half of the items show u there for $10 cheaper.

I love how you seem so comfortable in gent or fem clothes. It's rather hard for most people to pull that off.

Physically comfortable, sure. Emtnally comfortable....less so. It's funny in that my men's clothe slook more costumey to most people, but it's in women's clothes that I always feel costumed.

I totally get that. I just cannot wear girly stuff. The last time I wore something without pant legs was highschool graduation...only because it wasn't optional.

There is just something about how a man's shirt fits/feels.

You do know about all the custome tailored men's shirt sites, right? I have this whole _thing_ about the horror of finding the right white shirt, especially for my aesthetic sensibility. Which is why I love these sites, but they are always like "wait, wait... really?" "Yes, trust me."

lol. I did not know about the 'thing' I'm kinda freaky about my shirts. I need to get back into the habit of ironing again.

I cannot wait for my little shopping spree this summer. I need so many new dress shirts.

My personal fave is the second one, but that may just be because *I* want it. The last one is also pretty great.

*nod* There was one "I will definitely be buying this as soon as I find my tape measure" thing. Everything else can be drooled over for a little while longer.

I loved Adam Ant - still do, really, although life's been rough on the poor lad, of late.

I happened to be looking through some silly book of Duran Duran photos I'd found at the used book store the other day, and - lo and behold - there as a corker of a full-page pic of them draped in braid and pseudo-captain's bars and other such silliness. Unfortunately, right after the giggling died down, the damning words fell out of my mouth "I really should do that, some time..."

God help me if I come up with another 1980s live-action RPG idea... ("Big Brains, Skinny Ties" was bad enough!)

Oh, dear, I love the third one and it would be perfect for quick errands and suchlike when my usual long trailing coats are more awkward...

But it is out of stock! ARG! I shall be keeping my eye on it!

Thank you so much for sharing :-)

I am a sucker for navy blue velvet, so I say the first one, and yes, the second one with the bustle skirt, oh and the third one would be perfect also.

Clearly I am here to help.

*pokes head in* Custom tailored men's shirts?

As in, custom for real custom?

Like, I could have a shirt that would fit me?

I can't dress like a man. there's an eleven-inch difference between my bust and my ribcage. It looks stupid when I try to squash things down. I used to dress up in men's clothes all the time as a young adolescent-- my father had no sons, and someone had to go to military reenactments with him, but I really did look pretty funny in Civil War garb-- I was a C cup even then. Not subtle.

... But there are people that custom-make clothes any more, for real???

For real.
Lots of people do.

This ranges from stuff like my custom Snape coat I got from Kambriel.com and the Regency men's suit I had made to my measurements by Satin Shadow to things like the folks at eShakti.com, which do hand made to costum measurements Indian and Indian-influenced clothes.

For men's shirts, I like garytailor.com and executivetailor.com and dream of being able to afford http://www.listerouge-paris.com/
