I was having a major cashflow drama that was going to impact my ability to go to Vermont this weekend for

schpahky's graduation. Instead of just doing the "*grumble**grumble* mercury retrograde" thing, I said to Alison in email that perhaps I just need to offer prayers to Mercury/Hermes.

One hour later, cash flow problem solved.

When I was a child, for the record, I was obsessed with Hermes. He was so pretty in D'Aulaire's Mythology and I always dressed up as him for all the school events (Latin class and related) that required that sort of thing, until one year I got forced to be Artemis. He was one of the first things I loved, one of my first imaginary and constant companions. And to this day, he still comes through for me. Every damn time.
