There are some new updates on what happened and what is happening.

They reflect, I think, an improvement in the situation and clarity about it. But I still have concerns in part because someone has to attempt to be some sort of ombudsman here, and I've nominated myself apparently.

The latest on ToS and enforcement there of is here:

The latest on what actually happened that caused Strikethrough '07:

it's been interesting, i'll say that much.

what i don't get is people (other than trolls, which are perfectly understandable) ragging on others for pursuing things that are, honestly, in everyone's best interests. *eyeroll*

When I come across an issue that really gets to me, I fight it to the death, too. I'm glad you're on Strikethrough07.

no, i meant more in general in the whole discussion the amount of shaming that you see going on, to get people to stop rocking the boat. it's almost like there's this family dynamic coming out with one kid trying to get the other to stop making dad mad.

I'm still waiting for them to actually revise the TOS and et cetera.

I used to do this sort of shit for a living ( abuse enforcement stuff on the net, that is), and I know way too much about where LJ has gone wrong on Abuse and ToS enforcement and law enforcement issues. If I pay too much attention, I might explode as a result of my frustration at the stupidity and flailing.

Can we start a fundraiser for them to hire a real Internet legal counsel to re-write, clarify, and explain their policies, how the various laws work, and so on?

Your commentary is, as usual, eloquent and to the point. Finally, some sanity.

Also, I replied to your stalker in a manner which, I hope, is replete with lols.

You've got your very own homophobic troll - how cute! Or not, as the case may be.

As usual, spot on. And you have a troll! How adorable, even if the poor thing can scarcely type properly.

Interestingly, such as it is, he doesn't seem to be on everyone who is bitching about this thing. I just seem to rankle the fucker somehow.

Your Strikethrough Stalker is full of teh crazy.
Have you tried looking at their journal? It made my brain cry.

I'm glad they're finally starting to come out with real answers. All that crap before just wreaked of marketing mumbo-jumbo to me.
