I'm glad to hear this. In general, they did an excellent job of boiling the book down, but this scene was one of the places that felt really truncated- for all that it would have taken at least half an hour to really explore the remifications of that scene- such as HArry's two main father figures being bullying jerks. Also, the whole Legilimency/Pensieve change drove me nuts- we lose the sense that his seeing that memory at all was a huge violation of Snape's privacy; here, it's simply Snape- who's brilliant at Legilimency- dropping his guard.
Or, the implication being he's not as gifted as the books make it clear he is. Which is another thing that anoys me about the movies -- not only do we loose Snape's ambiguity, but we lose the sense of burden he has -- whether it be due to skill or task. He is a gifted person who has not been served well by being gifted. This is directly relevant to Harry's experience and it's JUST NOT THERE. That Snape is wound painfully tight has reasons in teh books, in the movies he's just odd.
