We'll return to our regularly scheduled iconage after the book release.

Meanwhile, I found a critical solution to the worldbuilding in my novel. Turkish coffee. Not fucking tea. It cants the entire world into a much better basis.

That's funny, unintentionally.

That's the kind of coffee [he] prefers.

How weird! I feel sort of sad about it, as I can't even try this thing, as I'll get really sick.

What does coffee do to you?

a tablespoon of it will make me shake uncontrollably for 4 hours such that I can't even type or hold a pen.

Even decaf? You should be able to make it with any kind of coffee, it just needs to be powdered first. The process of doing so used to be done with a mortar, and that might be fun to put in the story at some point.

Powder my coffee, wench!

To make a caffeinated beverage DeCaf simply pour boiling water over the grounds/leaves only enough to cover. Let sit 30 seconds and pour off the water. Then add the appropriate temp water again and steep/brew as usual. Proven to eliminated over 99% of the shaky shit from the cup.

Hey, hooray for Turkish coffee! Ah, but how sad- I didn't realize you couldn't drink coffee.

Also, randomly: they had all these pretty little Turkish coffee sets on the Turkish side of Nicosia that I was really tempted to buy for myself, except when the hell would I ever use it? And now I sort of wish I had.

Ha! And here I'd figured you knew all about it and I was describing something you'd had a hundred times.

That's why I asked you about your coffee habits -- we don't have a coffee maker or anything here, so that's on your list if you need one.

Ah, I see. I never make coffee for myself though; I don't drink it in the mornings, just when I'm out somewhere.
