Meanwhile, I found a critical solution to the worldbuilding in my novel. Turkish coffee. Not fucking tea. It cants the entire world into a much better basis.

a tablespoon of it will make me shake uncontrollably for 4 hours such that I can't even type or hold a pen.

Even decaf? You should be able to make it with any kind of coffee, it just needs to be powdered first. The process of doing so used to be done with a mortar, and that might be fun to put in the story at some point.
