Oct. 31st, 2007 01:13 pmJKR saying Dumbledore was gay is not some hideous introduction of sexuality into innocent children's books.
HAVE YOU PEOPLE READ BOOKS 4, 5, 6 and 7?
News to people: straight teens kissing each other? ALSO SEXUALITY.
Man, I have got to get off the Internets.
Also: JKR hates me: http://www.the-leaky-cauldron.org/2007/10/31/new-clues-and-secrets-revealed-on-jk-rowling-com
Although my book is not an encyclopedia or guide, nor does it claim to be. It's a quiz book on the weird little fiddly fixations I have.

Note that this is a series that begins with the main character's parents dying. Right from the first book, the character is fighting against the most hideous and vicious evil his world has ever known. The revelation of Voldemort living in the back of Quirrell's head? Pretty creepy!
This series takes place in a haunted castle, with ghosts and a poltergeist wandering around. There is evil and threat, both in the Muggle and Wizarding worlds. This series has never been Disney — unless by "Disney" you mean "the scene in Bambi where Bambi's mother gets shot".
People need to grow the f*** up.

Date: 2007-10-31 06:36 pm (UTC)The series contains at least three incidents that are speculated to be rapes (I'm pretty sure two of them are, but am abivalent about the third) and incest and people are worries about the old celibate gay guy?!?!?

Date: 2007-10-31 07:36 pm (UTC)Oh, I naturally assumed that your use of the word "innocent" was effectively an unattributed quote of someone else — or of a great many someone elses, or a summation of their position. I didn't for a moment think that you consider the Harry Potter oeuvre to be "innocent".
