First off, I totally agree that straight sexuality is still (or also) sexuality, and it's been there since at least the Winter Ball in Goblet of Fire. But even beyond that, you say "introduction of sexuality into innocent children's books" (emphasis added).

Note that this is a series that begins with the main character's parents dying. Right from the first book, the character is fighting against the most hideous and vicious evil his world has ever known. The revelation of Voldemort living in the back of Quirrell's head? Pretty creepy!

This series takes place in a haunted castle, with ghosts and a poltergeist wandering around. There is evil and threat, both in the Muggle and Wizarding worlds. This series has never been Disney — unless by "Disney" you mean "the scene in Bambi where Bambi's mother gets shot".

People need to grow the f*** up.

Also, if anyone bothered to actually read the story she gave beyond that quote, it makes perfect sense in context of Dumbledore's character development. The quote itself doesn't change the content of the story at all, which makes it very much a non-issue (except to the zealots who already don't like it).

Eh, yeah. Ok well as I remember the game being played, it's all the PROFITS from said sale going to a charity. Thus everyone gets paid and whatever is left over goes to the charity. That , IMHO, constitutes personal gain.

I'd like to give her the benefit of the doubt and say that she is targeting some of the less than stellar knockoffs or blatant knockoffs and so on. I don't see her going after Alivans.com ....

I'm not really sure why she'd be upset about other companion books... I mean, I don't think unofficial things would prevent any significant number of people buying her book at all. I mean, she has the canonical source material; everyone else is just speculating. Hell, I'll personally buy TWO copies of her encyclopedia just to benefit the darn charity, and I bet a lot of people will do the same.

And the anti-gay crap around poor Dumbledore just exhausts me.Always amazes me that anti-gay hetero folks think, somehow, that two kids of the opposite sex kissing doesn't count for sexuality, but two people of the same sex kissing does. Hetero privilege makes me so tired some days.

On Wednesday, Rowling and the makers of the Harry Potter movies filed a lawsuit against RDR Books, a small U.S. publisher that plans to bring out a companion volume based on the Harry Potter Lexicon fan Web site.
